Details

Hickory, known as the King of cooking woods, is incredibly versatile. It offers a strong, savory smoke with a rich flavor. Mix it with lighter fruit woods like cherry or peach to add a touch of sweetness to your cooking. Hickory wood chunks are cut and kiln-dried, usable alone or with lump charcoal or briquets. They have a robust aroma that's not too bold and slightly sweet. Perfect for kettle grills, ceramic grills, or smokers, hickory wood chunks are an excellent choice for enhancing your grilling experience.

FEATURES

  • Kiln-dried real hickory wood chunks for grilling and smoking
  • Use as a standalone grilling fuel or pair with lump charcoal or briquets
  • Hickory wood is versatile and imparts a mild smoke flavor that pairs great with beef, pork, deer, and cheese
  • Mix hickory with cherry or peach to add a touch of sweetness while cooking.
  • HOW TO USE CHUNKS:
  • The Wet Chunk Approach - For that moist and flavorful smoke, soak wood chunks in water for at least 30 min. Drain chunks, and place 3 to 4 pieces directly over the hottest part of your cooker or directly onto hot coals. Move lit wood chunks to edges as needed to create smoldering.
  • The Dry Chunk Approach - For a steady slow release smoke, try the dry chunk method of placing 3 to 4 pieces directly onto the fire or heat source. Allow the wood chunk to ignite, then using tongs move them to the edges as needed, allowing the wood chunks to smolder without flaming up.
