SEASONAL SALES ASSOCIATE (Plants/Nursery)
Bomgaars is seeking a motivated, customer service oriented individual who likes working outside to fill a Sales Associate position in the Plants/Nursery department. Position requires flexibility in shifts for watering sessions - days, evenings, and weekends. Position is needed from mid March/early April through June/July.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Agriculture background
- Product knowledge - plants, shrubs, and vegetables
- Willing to work outside for extended time periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Committed to excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
- Must be available to work flexible schedules - days, evenings, weekends (shift premium paid for working weekends)
Responsibilities:
- Freight handling/Merchandising/Signage with plant information
- Unload flower racks/Maintain the nursery area (varying weather conditions)
- Basic gardening tasks (watering, weeding, fertilizing, and repotted as needed)
- Stocking with new plants/rotating inventory/checking for damaged or unhealthy plants
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately (cash, correct change, credit/debit cards, and checks)
- Assist customers with product selection and load outs
- Handling phone calls
*Pre-employment drug screen required
Starting wage range is $13.00 per hour
